# Quick start

## 1. Install

With Homebrew, on macOS or Linux:

```
brew install intenseloop/tap/statuz
```
Copy
Or with npm:

```
npm i -g statuz-cli
```
Copy
Bun and a shell script work too: [Install
](/docs/install).

## 2. Set up

```
statuz init
```
Copy
Creates `~/.statuz` and an agent guide (`AGENTS.md`, skills), then lists the agent apps it finds (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Claude Desktop and [more
](/docs/agents)) so you can pick which ones use Statuz. Safe to rerun.

## 3. Connect an account

```
statuz accounts connect --platform bluesky
```
Copy
Approve in the browser. The token goes into your OS keychain.

- Mastodon: add `--server mastodon.social` (your server).

- X and LinkedIn: need your own developer app first. See [Accounts
](/docs/accounts). [Statuz Cloud
](/docs/cloud) brings its own.

## 4. Schedule a post

```
statuz posts create --text "Hello from Statuz" --to bluesky --at "tomorrow 9am"
```
Copy
Leave out `--at` to publish now. More in [Scheduling
](/docs/scheduling).

## 5. Start the daemon
Terminal
```
statuz start
statuz status
```

The daemon sends scheduled posts and survives reboots. `status` shows what's next and what needs you.

Computer often off at post time? Use [Statuz Cloud
](/docs/cloud).
